The One - An Eternity Bind As A Soulmate

Whenever I share a topic, whether with friends or colleagues, I usually cover my main interest such as History, Human - World latest development (Politic/Economy/Resource/Environment/Technology), Theology/Religious argument and new idea/perspective on how human system should be organize and implement.

Even though seldom did I share about my inner ME - feeling toward love, It happen to be the most important factor that contribute on how my strong view, work efficiency and feeling directed.

As widely known, L.O.V.E refers to the feeling between human beings which closely associated with an interpersonal relationships. It is a more potent sentiment than a simple liking for another. Such love might exist between family members, friends, and couples (Also in religion, we were thought how love our god the most too)

As for me, I also have this kind of feeling. The feeling and emotion of strong affection and personal attachment which goes particularly to this interesting caring woman. She mean everything to me. Before her, love is just like a game where it come and go just to fill in the empty slot in my life. A companion to share interest, to hang out, to fill up the standard set by a growing temptation feeling as a teenager. But as this woman enter my life differently, she switch on my deeper feeling and initiating my sense of responsible, urging my desire to live together with her, settling down with our kids and spend the rest of my life with her.

I met her in my University. She was one of my college and club-mate. I was eager to get to know her better the first time Ive seen her. I keep on wandering at that time, is she the one longing for me? I spent most of my time collecting info about her, introducing myself and getting closer with her by all mean. She is friendly, in fact she was friendly to everyone (It kept me feeling threaten on the first place hehehe : She is a sport person type and has a happy go lucky characteristic). But as time goes by, she had given me a chance, to prove my feeling - not just her (which formally written in an agreement, which I still kept a good care of it with me all this time ^^).

Yes, we do confront a hiccup in our relationship a long the way. God did create man and woman to complete each other. Sometime when I gaze back to our memory, it is interesting that most of the time we share the same goal/view but defer on how/when we need/try to realizing it. Its a common sense when man act more focus to the result while woman take into account all the smallest thing involve. I learn a lot from her.

My dad used to share with me that in an Islamic perspective, in choosing a partner, the most important factor that should be taken into consideration is Taqwa (piety and consciousness of Allah). The Prophet (s.a.w), recommended the suitors to see each other before going through with marriage procedures. That is very important because it is unreasonable for two people to be thrown into marriage and be expected to have a successful marital life, full of love and affection, when they know nothing of each other.

This ruling does not contradict the Qur'anic verse that says, “…believing men and women should lower their gaze” (An-Nur: 30). Marriage by definition is a voluntary union of two people. The choice of a partner by a Muslim girl is subject to the approval of the father or guardian. This is to safeguard her welfare and interests.

Though love is something nice, however, this love should not be overwhelming and cause a person to forget other characteristics which he should look for in the person he wants to marry. The most important characteristic is religious commitment. The Prophet (s.a.w), says: “A woman may be married for four things: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty and her commitment to religion.

Looking back at the road not taken by me, there is a lot of thing I miss. But for what I have now, I feel so grateful that god destine me to met her. Yes, there is a lot to be improve, she might not come from a wealth family (so am I), but her lineage, beauty (as saying that the beauty lays in the eyes of the beholder ^^) and her commitment to religion was the thing that bind me as I will never find no one no more who can be more particular like her (of course for one that also accept me for who I really am). Thanks god.

Also, my dad did tell me, it is up to me and my responsible to shape and polish her up in being the most understandable soul mate of my life, being a better servant in following the Islamic teaching and later be a good wife of mine hence take good care educating our family on how to continue this challenging life cycle.

Spending seven year knowing her as friend and fiance, I have no doubt that she is the one. She support me in various forms, acts as a major facilitator in my career and interest. She seem to be my central psychological importance that support my every single brain activities. Life and work seems to be meaningless when she was "away" when we have some fight/quarrel sometimes. But, I have to admit, she is my motivation in everything I have done and achieved. Therefore, she surely the last in my wish list as the one for me. My soul mate that I hope and pray that god will eternally bind with me in a forever relation (Soon our wedding-the akad, will officially take place, declaring us as rightful husband and wife, I pray that I will live long enough to take good care of her, giving all my love to her, keeping her smiling till her last breath)
Dedicate specially to you - my soul mate, for always being there for me - Norhafizah Binti Johar
(Date of wedding : 6 November 2010)

Ive do make mistake, but you always be a great teacher, giving me lot of chance to learn it differently.

Thanks dear.
